Lots of ways to Create a Second Job / Income

In the times we live in now, its difficult to live on one income. I’m sure most people can count at least 10 bills they have to pay in one month and if they get behind, it starts adding up, not to talk of loans/debts being paid back.

Here are some way to create a second job to suit you. I think as it’s a second job, it would be nice if you are in control of it. Hope you find it useful.

1) Extra Tuition

Offer 1 to 1 tuition. This could be 2/3 hours in the week, after work or at the weekend. You don’t need a teaching degree to teach 5 to 10 year olds maths and English. It could also be a Language. Some parents want their kids to learn Spanish, French, Arabic etc.

Action: - Advertise on a FREE Website. Possibly – Get a clean CRB Record. (Criminal Record Bureau). Some parents are keen on this.

Tools: Lesson Plan, exercises printed, handouts for the lesson.

 

2) Good with hair ? – Mobile Hairdresser

Some men and women are very good with hair, but it’s not necessarily their profession. Again as above, you could do 1 or 2 people’s hair on a Saturday or other times in the week that suit you. Please make sure you know how to. If their hair turns blue when you colour it, my Hub wasn't responsible. :)

Action: - Advertise on a FREE Website.

Tools: Combs, sprays, scissors, Hair attachments and all you’ll need.

3) Weekend DJ

Getting everyone to shake it like Beyonce on the dance floor. If you’re good at being a DJ, why not give this a go. You are practically getting paid to enjoy yourself.

Action: Advertise on a FREE website and get Cards Printed.

Tools: Cd’s, good sound system, good music, Red Bull??

4) Taxi Driver – p/time

Yes, Taxi Driver. In London we have Black Cabs and Private Cabs. So, you’d obviously fall into the Private Cab Category. ,You can do it at weekends only, if you want or evenings. You must own your own Car to do this. (Not a mini)

Action: Get your car Licensed as a Private Cab, Register with a Taxi firm.

Tools: A – Z Maps, Sat Nav (GPS) _{** Some people hate giving directions to a Taxi they've hired.}

 

5) Cleaner

Lots of people hire cleaners. Work at a time that suits you. Ask if they need ironing done too. If you do a good job and have a good rapport with them, they will make it regular. I hear the rates for cleaning is small, but it adds up at the end of the month.

Action: Advertise on a FREE Website.

Tools: Check what cleaning items they have and know what to take.

6) Baking

Some people are so good with baking and can bake birthday cakes, party cakes etc.If you are one of them, always call me to sample (taste) your cake before you send it out. Infact bake 2, one for the client and one for me to sample. I’m very generous in volunteering my time.

Action: Place in Ad on a FREE Website.

Tools: All baking tools.

7) Writing Online

Good, but don’t hold your breath on this one - there is no guarantee of a monthly income. Payments might be 4, 5, 6 times a year. So, if all the above don’t float your boat you could consider this. Infact, knowing that you are reading this, you already have and I hope those Adsense cheques roll in fast.

Action: Register with Creative Writing Sites.(at least 2) Not only Hubpages.

Tools: The Internet, your imagination/creative mind.

8) Avon representative

Mostly done by ladies. If you know a lot of people then this is good. Just pass on the AVON Brochures to all your friends and neighbours. Let them order. Collect their orders and place it with Avon – you get a reasonable Commission every month

Action: Register with AVON.

Tools: Lots of Brochures.

Optional

• For all the above, it’s optional if you want to create a FREE website for them. It could be one page, that states what you do, your rates, how to contact you, submit it to Search Engines so there’s a higher chance of finding you. (not just on FREE Ad Websites). I note optional, because it’s a second job and some people might just do 5-10 hours a week.
• The same applies for Printed Cards – Optional.
• A designated email for it. E.g LadyE_DJ@gmail.com (no, i'm not a DJ)
• A receipt book that you can give to people, when they pay. You can buy them for £1, it has a Carbon paper – so you have a copy too or pre-printed invoice.
• You might also have to Pay Tax on the income received.
• You might want to consider Insurance.
