I have a feeling a lot of people will read the title of this Hub and look puzzled. “Naked? Buns? Oven?” Has Lady_E had a Liquid Lunch? So, pardon me, a bun in the oven is a British Slang for a pregnant woman. "She has a bun in the oven".
Being pregnant is such a wonderful thing. What a Blessing. A new being inside of you, whether you are a man or a woman. Yes, below there are details of a pregnant man. Oh! the world is fast spinning to an end but anyway… I have noticed the trend these days, is for Celebrities to pose in their Birthday suit in the late stages of Pregnancy. Hats off to those that do this, it must take a lot of balls. However, when I see such pictures I am curious to know why they decided to?

It stirred up a lot of controversy and remains one of the most-talked about magazine covers in recent history.Critics balked at the "unnecessary exposure" and some retailers responded by selling the magazine in brown paper bags. It was argued that the cover captured the beauty of pregnancy. At the time Moore told Vogue magazine, "It did seem to give a little bit more permission to feel sexy, attractive when you're pregnant, but I really didn't expect for the response to be what it was. I was pretty shocked."

So why did they decide to pose in the Nude?
I came up with the following possibilities.
1) They would earn $£Thousands for posing nude, which could help with Maternity expenses. i.e for them having to be away from work for a while?
2) People will see that Pregnancy doesn’t actually make them look ugly. They actually look very good being pregnant?
3) It’s Liberating?
4) It’s Sexy?
5) They can show the baby when he/she is grown up, how famous the baby was as a little bump?
6) It will get them a lot of Press/attention?
What fascinates me is the way the photo’s are taken. They are in their Birthday suit but the poses cover up some modesty. Thumbs up to the photographers.

Pregnancy is beautiful, and I'm sure these glamorous stars are accustomed to (nearly) everything they do being photographed or otherwise recorded for posterity. I'm sure it isn't for everyone, though.
By the way, you certainly drew me to this hub with the unusual title. Voted up and rated "beautiful."

When my ex partner was pregnant she shone like a beautiful ebony beacon. Everyone bathed in her sunshine. But posing naked for all the world to see? I think I'd have lost my front teeth if I'd suggested that. Thank you Lady_E, a thought-provoking and intriguing hub.
Lady_E: Pregnancy is a beautiful and intimate evolution. As stated above, these celebreties are used to being photographed, so they had no problem with it and as you stated, the money is a help and motivator. Guess it's a matter of personal choice, as all celebs aren't posing. Great for those brave enough.
Call me prudish but I don't think it's right to pose nude at all! That said, I would never even think of posing nude while being pregnant. And as far as the pregnant man - that is just wrong - kind of disgusting in fact. Thanks for the interesting read though.
Lady_E - Thank you exposing them. That of the man was sickness sort of. Infact, some women can make money out of any situation. They seem to have the feeling that once the nipples are covered and the inner part of the down section are not seen, then the issue of nudity does not arise. Too bad. The world is gradually coming to an end. I believe if there is money in displaying the anus, women will go for it.

These women are all beautiful pregnant. The pictures are done tastefully to show just how radiant they really are. I think there is nothing wrong with these pictures at all. The pregnant man did not cover his chest with his arms like the women did. That proves once again that women are better at being pregnant than men. He was the only one that got it wrong!

Lady E, Very interesting and provocative hub! There is a certain freedom that one experiences in the buff! But I personally think that it is a private intimate occasion... But to each his own? The human body is a marvelous creation of the Lord. Pregnancy can be a wonderful experience. Life growing inside of you has such a plethora of wonderful memorable moments! To share it nude?
Hmm but share it with the world? The pregnant man or is he really still a she? Does breast removal make you less of a woman and the womb is intact? I wonder? Pregnancy is a woman’s affair only, by God’s design. Again to pose in the buff pregnant? I don’t think it is just for the attention… For some to prove a point and others it goes much deeper. I'm not sure about why anyone would want to let the world see them naked, but now that the famous are showing off how beautiful pregnancy is, women are better off because of their bravery. Pregnant women are no longer thought of as fat cows, they are now a thing of beauty. Thanks Lady_E for taking a brave step with this Hub.

I think it's sad when we hear so many woman say they are fat and ugly when pregnant, that is just so much nonsense, they are radiant, with beautiful complexion and silky hair. It is good that the celebs are prepared to show off their pregnancies, for whatever reason, it helps to give other women more confidence.

I always find happy mothers going around with their babies simply wonderful, and obviously consider pregnancy a kind of magic. Probably because as a male I see just the positive side. :)

What ever the reasons are for deciding to pose nude, these women are confident about their looks and feel beautiful from inside. I guess that is what matters.

Psychology of a pregnant woman is much more complex but in general I think there is very less such general literature on psychology of woman at that young age. They seem to enjoy certain times dresses with a little body show in public but at the same time they set their own limit also how far they would go? I wonder is it just an internal feeling to have body free from some clothing -using a bra for example all the time during the day, which just sticks to your body must be a bit of torture.
It should be interesting to study this phenomena. Much more interesting will be if different classes of woman describe in the same article their feeling about it and what do they feel about reactions of men and women about it.
soumyasrajan - Posing with Caution was an edited version of a Hub "Why Pose Naked". Of all the Hubs I have, it gave me tonnes of traffic (had 125 comments) but sadly after 1 year there was an issue of the word "Naked" and HP deleted lots of Hubs with this word. I wrote another one but cos I was upset closed it to comments.
So... thanks for your comments. About the other stuff, lots of women bare a little flesh these days, I personally think its because it makes them feel sensual. (thats the psychology behind it). Interestingly, its now become the norm. There are times I want to buy a nice blouse but can't because the neck is so scooped.(low cut) Fashion Designers just assume everyone wants to show a cleavage. lol.

Thanks for the response. Desire to be sensual is surely one of the main reason. I agree with you that now it is difficult to buy things as you like, fortunately in India still you can get clothes stitched. It is not so expensive. But girls now do find it for example difficult to buy sandals (chappals) or shoes which have less heals and are healthier.
But I was thinking of some thing further than this idea of being sensual (or another reason may be you want to do just what every body else does and called modern or fashionable).
Many times while walking, me and my wife have tried to match our feeling about some woman who may have just passed by. Whether she was nice and attractive (I think it does include a little bit of sensuality). We have noted that our feeling more or less matched. Often girls with clothes quite traditional also look very attractive just by their style (facial expression is one of the most important ingredient) or just a slight movement in their body - the way they do those movements, one might feel sensual or very attractive. So it does not really matter so much that clothes have to be flesh showing. Also measure of attractiveness seems to be the same for man or woman (like it matches for me and my wife).
I wonder more about from where this feeling about revealing body being used as a main tool to be attractive or sensual comes. I have always felt for example woman do enjoy watching or assessing attractiveness of another woman. They may be watching man too but I think they can just enjoy woman in this way a little more than man do for man. I think if possibility is there man mostly will prefer to pay more attention to woman, when it comes to assessing attractiveness.
So girls do have some feeling quite different from man. Does this difference also include this idea of wearing clothes showing flesh? (for example will woman prefer that even when they are alone and no body may watch them from close distance?). That is what I was wondering. Some of these feelings are very natural and in built. Since males generally do not have similar feeling they may not understand it also so well or can not easily get similar feeling. It does seem that every person sets up her/his own limit about it also. How much to reveal. These limits do change with profession or life style one gets into. But some of it again seems to be inbuilt by nature?
I think Woman-lib people in Europe or UK might jump immediately "no! No! woman man are the same, this is just male-chaotic society" etc. But to me that attitude does not look much different from very conservative religious people who do want to put restriction even on what you want to discuss or study.
There do seem to be some natural differences in feelings of man and woman which may not necessarily come from social behavior. Biologists now use studying which part of brains light up when you think of some thing, as a tool to study thinking. Such experiments may perhaps reveal more (some people may have already done such studies).
But I feel even that may not do complete justice. Some of these feelings perhaps do not come just from brain and we do not really have much methods to study them.
Understanding one's own feeling then expressing them and discussing them with others, experimenting with them may be the only way- time being, apart from above methods

Wow! Awesome hub. I could not pose nude with my child in my tummy! The what ifs...... what if when they get older they see this floating around on the internet? I would NEVER want my child to see their momma like this. But the pics are respectful with covering up!

Perhaps if I looked as good as the stars when pregnant, I'd have posed while pregnant-but I don't really think so. Pregnancy is such an intimate thing.
Stars love cameras, however, so I suppose to each her-OR his-own! :)
