Personal Growth: 10 Questions to ask yourself at the end of 2011
65Its November, the year is slowly coming to an end and here I am lying down infront of a beach, on a private Island which I visit often in my private Jet – taking time to reflect.
Pamela Anderson has a beach house just 5 minutes away and Oprah Winfrey will be dropping by to have Coffee with me shortly. I am waving to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as they pass by in their Luxury Yacht. They smile and wave back. (ok that bit’s a dream)
But here is reality….
It’s always a good idea to take time to reflect on our life, how the year has gone and here are 10 questions I reflect on as I approach the end the year. I hope as you read, you can also answer some of the questions for yourself.
.
So, I ask myself the following questions:
1. Did I stick to my New Year’s Resolution?
2. What did I learn this year? What big lessons of life did I learn?
3. What did I accomplish this year? What did I achieve?
4. Is there anything I would have done differently this year?
5. What events stood out significantly for me this year?
.
6. What do I feel exceptionally good about? What was my greatest contribution?
7. What fun things did I do?
8. What were my biggest “pains in the neck” example, challenges this year and how did I manage to overcome them, if at all I did?
9. Have I changed from how I was last year?
10. What am I particularly grateful for?
.

Hi there, How are you? you are asking some good questions that every one should ask to themselves. But questions are there and most of us didn't act upon the questions and try to get the results. Take care!
Love the hub,I do a inventory of self at the end of the year. This year is so different,I've had so much death in my family and friends that this year,I'll just be happy to make it the New Year.
Awesome hub,voted up!
Thank you Lady_E!
Nice hub E!
Some good questions here, but I don't know why, I don't feel like going through all these questions and would look forward to some new year resolutions for the coming year. 2011 was a great year for me but still, going through past has always been a challenge for me.
Nice hub,
This year has been passed with great distress to me. Looking for nice days. Your hub will help me to do so. Thanks.
Wonderful. Thanks for ur help.
Nice picture look like its from one of the island from the ?Whitsundays
Dear Lady_E,
The biggest lesson for me this year was, letting go of my beloved boyfriend, knowing it's only a goodbye for a while, making 2012 probably one of the best years I'll ever have!
I remember your sweet comment on 'Can I put you in a box?' about letting him go.
Your Hub offers valuable questions, to reflect on your life, listening to some lounge music, while drinking hot chocolate. Hope you'll be as eager as I am to start positively in 2012!
Voted up, useful, awesome and interesting!
Hi Lady_E! This hub is full of wisdom. Yes, I will take time to reflect on the questions you asked and answer them with an intent to enhance the good and change that which needs changing. Thank you.
Voted up, up and away!
Hello LadyE. These are tough questions that I evade, since it reminds me of disappointments every year. I am never satisfied and feel I could have done a lot more.
Glad you make me look at them, and learn something.
Hoping the year has been good to you.
I haven't read you article.
It's always good to reflect on the year and you've given us many pointers. I can trust you to challenge us, especially this time of the year when everything goes super fast. Thanks and rated up.
Lady_E sister. I am grateful to be here. Nice hub of love and an inspiration to keep on and keep on. Phil 4:13 We may not have lived up to our expectaions but hopefully we had God in the picture then nothing is in vain. Hey wish I was on that beach with you. I like allot. Love you sista. Sending a warm hug your way.
Awesome hub. I'll have to bookmark it and come back at New Years to take it all in again. Great points to bring up and face. I especially love the quote at the end about the greatest pleasures in life being the things that people say you can't do...I've found that to be very true in my life. Voted up and beautiful.
I made a vow sometime back that i would stop worrying about the little things and i feel that i'm succeeding. You've written a great thought provoking article.
Way to go!!!
Did I stick to my resolution.
Am I healthier than I was in January-YES
Is my attitude and approach to life better than in January-YES
Wow, Lady_E you are thorough with yourself. I never make any new resolutions. I never can kepp them because my destiny has its own will. lol
What a wonderful hub! I will be re-reading this on New Year's Eve. It is always so wise to review the past year to see what you have learned before embarking on the new year. I love this hub! The photographs are beautiful and so appropriate. Voted up!
Lady E, Fabulous as well as Thought Provoking done with great style! Time is so precious and we really should take a personal inventory and ponder our lives! How we can improve... I don't really make a New Year Resolution but I do make a sincere attempt committing and contributing to making the world a better place by sharing The Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Thank You for sharing, In HIS Love, Grace, Joy, Peace & Blessings!
Hi! Elena,
1. I had no New Year Resolutions.
2. I learnt that it takes courage, determinisim, stubbornness (LOL), faith and God to create the future you desire.
3. I established aboutmyway.com and I designed pressclubnfcsunizik.com. I became a better writer.
4. I'd have watched my health, ate well and slept well.
5. The launch of my blog; falling in love over and over again with a girl a year older than me; supporting myself financially to an extent.
6. I inspired people who I couldn't see.
7. I chatted too much. :-D
8. An unfriendly friend - I made away with him; the lady I fell repeatedly in love with - I had to move on based on mutual understanding (she didn't like that although).
9. Yes. Too much!
10. God for sparing my life repeatedly even when I err.
That's all. Mind telling yours?
Royalmark peeped through. ;-)
LOL. I just did.
Don't worry, Elena, you'll eventually meet people who value the trust you have in/for them.
Regards, friend.
Its hard to believe that 2012 is closing in on.I am grateful to all that I am well and always want to live a honest life.Wish you a happy new year in advance. Thanks :)
Good questions to reflect on. This year has been very challenging economically (as I know it is for lots of people) - Yet, I am ever so grateful for God keeping me and my family with those things that are necessary. Hope each year gets better for us all. v and r

My attitude:
Chaos is a fact of life...so I use everything I know, intelligence, invoking as much emotional integrity, value and calm by simplifying my relationships and situation as much as possible.;)
