Don’t be afraid of a New Relationship
Liken it to boarding a new Ship
Exciting, new things to enjoy and explore
Two walking together through a new open door.

Don’t shy away from a New Relationship
The pain of the past needn’t make you quit
In life, sometimes we get it wrong
At other times, we find a bond so strong.

Don’t run away from a New Relationship
Hold on tight, don’t lose a grip
Let go of the past and move on
Bask in the presence of your new Loved one.

Don’t give up on a New Relationship
Invest, time, love and Romance in it
So you did it before, your partner didn’t care?
This is a New one, don’t be biased, be fair.

I was once afraid of a New Relationship
Couldn’t get myself to relax one bit
Waiting for something to go wrong any minute
And then I could justify leaving it.

So, I plead, stay in your New Relationship
Give it a chance to bloom, don’t quit
Love, trust and support your Other Half
Step by step, may life lead you to Love’s blissful path.

Very nice poem. I know many people who are afraid of loving without realizing that there is not better feeling than the one of being in love and being loved in return. Even when things go wrong, the pain is what keep us going and what make us feel alive.

I think you are right, "the more people hurt the more afraid they are to step out again in Love" and I find that sad because the best thing to forget a "mal d'amour" is to fall in love again. Besides, I am convinced that any suffering is worth the happines that you had being in love. That is why I like your poem because you encourage people to take the risk and start loving again.
We truly are not whole until we overcome the fear. How that happens and how long it takes is an individual matter. Hopefully, for all who have been, your overcoming will be sooner rather than later. Good poem! Encouragement is key!
