Shoes ~ Special High Heels that make you lose Weight

Question: Can shoes help you lose weight?

Answer: Oh, Yes they can!!

ツ★ It’s a shoe that will hit the stores soon and they are called Antelope High Heels.

The heel has a concave sole and a spring mechanism that slightly destabilises the person wearing it. As a result the designers are confident that the high heels will make the body work harder, while you are walking. It should also help with posture, which can give a slimming effect. Women will be able to lose as much as half a stone, if they wear it for 3 to 4 weeks. The shoes will be available in different styles and colours after being fully tested.

My Views

I am not so sure about wearing these shoes, for safety issues and if I did, I would be walking like Mrs DoubtFire. (If you don't know her, check out the Movie - Mrs Doubtfire). Only recently - January 2012, a Minister – Theresa May, got her heel caught in between the pavement in Downing Street – of all places (Prime Ministers Residence). See video below, which shows how she pulled it out. A little bit embarrassing….

If that could happen in Downing Street, what chance do we have in wearing these special Concave shoes on the streets of London?

  • No.
  • You gotta be kidding me!!

I don't quite think the shoes will work the way they are advertised. Maybe you'll lose a little weight, maybe not. I imagine a lot of it is hype to sell the shoes. Also, I wonder if they are good for your feet. They also will be dangerous if they adversely affect your balance.

Doubtful, me thinks, Lady E. I have a pair of sketchers walking shoes that claim to 'tighten and firm'. their soles aren't flat and i have to pay attention to what i'm doing (walking) at all times - or - it's soo easy to trip. I cannot imagine THOSE heels - and - i'm a heels kinda girl! Interesting...

I have enough trouble staggering around on heels as it is without worrying about whether I am losing weight at the same time!

@Imkarn - Thanks for sharing that. I will search google. I like the sound of your Sketchers. They will be better and more comfortable than the one above. Cheers.

@Chabilis ~ Lol. Be careful with those heels... Thanks for stopping by to comment.

@AlwaysExploring ~ Lol Ruby. On a serious note, people could even break a leg or twist their ankle. Later in the year, I will check the progress of the testing of the shoes and if it did hit the market....then update the Hub. Good to see you again. Thanks. :)

If they will work as they say, best advice is to wear them around the house during the normal time you one exercises, otherwise you are in danger of losing good posture. Thanks for sharing. And the Minister Theresa May's shoe, that has happened to me many times (thin hills on the pavement - the danger of getting stuck in between the slabs is always there so one has to watch out). Thanks for sharing.

Hmm, those shoes belong in the display cabinet--at least for me. They look nice, though. I know they also have flip flops that work the calf muscles to produce shapely calves. what would people think of next? Very interesting topic and thanks for alerting us. Rated up.
