The problem of being Slim, (not Anorexic)
This is a light-hearted article, which also has a ring of truth to it, for people who desperately want to be Slim. I am not fat, nor thin but I used to be very slim and write this from experience.
.
Problems of being Slim
a) Complaints – The whole world and their mother complain that you don’t eat, even though you know you really do. Some people eat such large portions of food but fortunately burn calories fast, so stay slim. Whereas, some people only look at a slice of cake (without eating it) and still put on a few calories!
.
b) Wrong perceptions - People think you are anorexic and forget that some people are naturally slim until after they have kids, then they naturally fill out and add some weight - both men and women.
c) Invisible - People don’t see you in the rush hour. I am fortunate that I don’t have to take the Underground Tube to work anymore. At the rush hour it’s so packed, people pushing people. So, the slim people become invisible. You’re so slim, they can’t see you and you could get really squashed. (see photo below)
d) Feather Weight – At certain tmes of the year, we have gale force winds in UK. Extremely windy – if you are drivng a car, you’d panic because it shakes. Now, how is a slim person supposed to walk through that? I remember in my 20s, I was so slim at such times – honestly, if was about to cross the road, waiting for the lights, I used to hold on to the traffic light poles and even that used to sway abit. The only difference between me and the lady below, is that I was at the bottom of the pole, holding on to it.
Those who were not slim just walked on confidently.
.
So, don’t be in such a bother to get slim. As a lady, Celebrate your Curves and as man well, it’s nice to be cuddly. ٩(•̮̮̃•̃)۶

Hah...way cool insight..personally, I love curves...and way cool attitude...it seems like you've got that covered..
Wow, I didn't know it got so windy in the UK, and for mass transit, we're still sitting here, alone, in our own cars, in traffic jams more often than not here in sunny Southern California...the heck with all that..I think I'll go to the beach instead today...ha ha ha
Nice hub...keep up the good work, my new friend..
Very informative write, I personally have all my life been attracted to a slim woman. Never have been a huge bust admirer, however a tight body athletic body has been this Saddlerider's taste. I agree with the curves BB they are essential and the beaches. Ah Heck I must confess, I simply love the Scent of all woman, Uwa...he he
I have always had my curves. I was the first girl to wear a training bra, the tallest girl in class, and the butt that made everyone call me J-Lo in middle school. Back then I was curvy but still really skinny, and now I'm more curvy all over. If I had a choice between the two? I like who I am now. I look at pictures of myself when I was really skinny and I just didn't look right. Now, about ten pounds overweight, some days I hate my thighs but all in all think I'm a pretty sexy lady when I'm laying naked in front of my boyfriend and I see the giant smile on his face. :)
Ahhhhh a pic of the typical, packed central line. Great hub, women do need some meat on them.
Hah...I think me and saddle have much in common...and I love loving women in ALL shapes and forms...
Amara, your boyfriend is a lucky man.. You, Just ask Susan, and Lady_E, all sound awesome.....
Thanks, Lady_E for such great fun...and my favorite subject!!!
Skinny people are hard to see in a darkened room. It is so easy for them to hide from the law. They never get caught. And they never get wet because they can walk between the rain drops.
I love Thin Mints as well as Big Bites, lol.;)))
Great Hub...Being a slim guy, not unhealthy mind you. I used to get a lot of comments from people. Eat, you don't eat enough. If you ate what I ate per day. Between 4000 - 6000 cals you would be huge. Will always be this way and can not do a single to change it. Yes, have to run around the shower to get wet. My favorite thing in the world is when a stranger walks up to me and says "your too skinny". It is always someone that is horizontally challenged, never fails. Used to get mad, now I just find humor in it. Thanks
I was once told I was too thin. I kept hearing it until I suddenly heard I was too heavy. Somehow, I never found a weight where people thought I looked good.
Hello Lady_E,
I was so thin when i was younger that i nearly slipped through the gaps of a drain cover, lol. My little pot belly now prevents that from happening.
I have enjoyed reading your last few funny hubs, comedy suits you,
thanks for sharing
Hello Lady E, great hub. Everyone should accept themselves the way they are, but we know being overweight is unhealthy. Trying to stay slim through diet and exercise is the way to go, just don't let your bones show. Bones are not attractive and should be covered with flesh.
Lady_E: I fully agree with you on this one. I love and appreciate the beauty of a slim or slender woman. The only thing that worries me is if her slimness looks anhorexic or just slim and as you are aware, there is a huge difference between the two looks and the health between the two.
Hahahahaha... I almost fell off my chair with laughter. funny hub
Lol.. Invisible Lady, I'm happy you didn't get missing in the underground tube sha
By the way, do you mean to tell me that in your early 20's, you held traffic poles when the weather was so windy?
I love slim people though, so get ready to do some slim-fitting.
#Amara Arielle - Guess you don't look so skinny now. :-)
#Paulgc, that little pot belly is so good for you. :-P. No more slipping in-between gaps of a drain cover :-)
This is funny Lady_E, you have put the thoughts of a slim person perfectly when you say about the pole. It might be symbolic but i donot think 10 kg more weight would fight strong winds better.
Great hub! Really makes you think about how we view slim folks. Funny!!
Enjoyed this. I guess i'm lucky, i don't gain weight. I do feel for people who have a problem. I guess being too skinny is just as bad as being obese, never thought about it before. Thank's for sharing.
Yes, as a man it's easier to be pushed and shoved around - and of course blown over by the wind
You've said it, it is a problem. Fat sticks like glue not matter what. I've given up and just make sure I am healthy.
I was skinny before high school and I hated it. I was so grateful when I finally started putting on some muscle.
Thanks for letting everyone know that being skinny is overrated
Lady E , I know we all have to be healthy but truley , when I look at people , especially woman, I see the whole person , Tiny , portly , there is so much beauty in them that I always come away with a beautiful picture. Awesome hub.:-}
I remember I was very thin when I first met most of my husband's family and they thought I looked "sickly." Also when I was thin I was always cold - which is a major problem during the winters here in the Northern Plains.
Lady_E - Its actually an individual thing. Some people prefer being skinny while others prefer being on the large side. Some men also prefer skinny ones while others prefer plus size ones. It all depends on the individual. Personally though, I prefer them skinnyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Interesting and funny hub which really made me happy at the sight of reading this hub. Thanks dear for sharing. Cheers.
If you are a male and you are skinny, people seem to not recognize you as much, but if you are female, it's a different story.
I am slim too, not very slim, but sufficient to attract complaints from someone and worries from someone else!
Great idea write this Hub!
You're welcome.
Lady, And all guys HATE you! H
Heidi Klum said it best, "I represent more the healthy, happy, curvy, strong woman. And that sounds much healthier to me than being 80 pounds and skinny as a bean.
Cheers :o)
I get the tube mon to fri in rush hour, it's not fun. The sexiest women are the one's comfortable in their own skin. And regard to C, if that is you in your avatar I can't imagine anyone not noticing you?
Elena, its much better to be slim .. atleast the heart has less mass volume to pump all that blood!! However, you have a different message in this hub and I understand and appreciate that as well!!
Cheers!!
Whether you would be naturally slim or a little heavy normally depends on one's body type. But to me we must not overdo to get slim. It doesnt matter whether you're slim or curvy. Its more important to possess a good strong fit body. That can help one to look more hot and beautiful. Overstressing yourself to get slim may also lead to various diseases. But at the end I must admit this hub is quite useful.
;). That's great that you run a site like that. Feel free to use it, hopefully will make a few people think.
I really love to read your hub,As these days I am also trying to get slim,I also remember those days when I was thin and have decent personality.
Anyways thank you for sharing with us..keep it up.
Haha--I remember my mother would shake her head and comment that my skinniness is bringing her much disgrace--it's also a sign of poverty (in the days when Chinese people are slim and poor...not so now). Always love your hub and this is no exception. Exceptionally entertaining!
Voted up and awesome! My mom is actually one that has a problem with keeping the weight on her. People torment her just as much, if not more, than people with too much weight! They say she needs to eat more and put on some more pounds, etc. She has finally reached a weight where she feels is healthy and in between heavy and too skinny. Great hub, Lady_E! I enjoyed this one a lot.
There are risks to be skinny to be pretty fat is good to know
This was nice information. I had never thought about this before, because many people want to be slim. But actually everything has consequences. Thanks for share with us. I learn much from you. Rated up!

Waving back, with a cheeky grin : )
Elena, we are just back from a holiday in the himalaya mountains. The quaint little place is called Lava, about 700kms from my city. I am preparing a hub on the place and hope to publish soon!! Cheers!! :)
My nickname was 'toothpick' when I was younger so I can relate to this hub. I remained skinny until I turned 40 but you know, I always wanted to have some curves so I'm happy with my body now anyway, especially because my nickname is no longer toothpick.
Toothpick... Funny name. I like it ;-)
Lol, yeah of course ;-)
Nice light article (no pun intended).True, you have to muscle your way on the underground transport.
I would hate to turn sideways and become invisible!! An athletic figure is great. I would hate to be over weight! My husband does prefer something to get hold of though!
Great hub as always Lady_E!
Thank You. This was really and interesting fun, and exciting read. I learned a lot from it too. God Bless You Precious heart, and your family, and loved ones.
I am a very cuddly man evidently ^_^

I used to be slim myself and it was always Eat Susan Eat You are too skinny. Even though now I consider myself a bit over-weight people still say to me You're not fat look at me. I am 5'9" so I guess I am lucky that way as the extra pounds are harder to see. Enjoyed your hub!
