Writing on Hubpages and Triond – The Comparisons
80I started writing for Triond in August 2010 and I enjoy it there – Ofcourse Hubpages is still my favourite. (i'm winking) To date, as at October 2010. I have published over 50 articles. My Profile is: LadyElena
.
So what is different b/w these two Writing sites?
Both Writing sites have a friendly community and you can customize your home page with nice Widgets.
1) Writing – On Triond you don’t have to write long articles. Infact, if your article is only 100 words, it will still be published and there are no bans on specific words. On Hubpages, there are certain words that are no longer acceptable/advisable to use for Hubs. (something due to complying with Google)
2) Comments – People leave comments. However, unlike Hupbages, when you leave a comment, you can’t edit if you make a mistake. So, I’ve learnt to press one key at a time, unlike on Hubpages where I type on “Fast Forward” and edit a comment 5 times!
- Newbies - Kick Start to Success on Hubpages
A Newbies simple guide - giving a good, practical Kick Start to making success on HP. November 09.
3) Adsense – Adsense on Triond seems to be higher because the Ads literally cover the page of your articles. I’ve been able to verify this via adsense reports too. In addition, you get paid for page views unlike HP that you get paid for Adsense / Amazon. Your page view earnings are also shown daily on your Triond dashboard.
4) Publishing – Hubpages have have an edge over Triond, in that you can publish when you want. Triond have to approve your article but it doesn’t take long. (I must emphasise here that they don’t act as Grammar Police, what they do is they have to give it a link and a site. Triond publishes on so many websites. (see below). So, example: if your article is about food. It will be published on Notebook (a food website). If it’s about health, it will be published on Healthmad (a health website) and they will email you the link or it will be shown when it’s published on your Dashboard. For Editing – you can’t edit as you please. You have to submit anything you wish to edit and they will edit it.
Triond will Publish your Articles on any of these Websites
5) Photos – you can publish photos only, if you wish and still earn on page views and Adsense.
In a Nutshell, I think it’s worthwile writing on another site. As I have received my first payment via paypal, I am assured that it’s a genuine site. There are some Hubbers there too. If you are thinking of increasing your earnings, it would be a good idea to join, but do keep your Hubpages account going. (If you have one) Both Hubpages and Triond have their positive points and are good platforms for writing.

Update Jan 2012
Pay - When I wrote this article, Hubpages had not yet introduced the Ad Program. Earnings on Hubpages are much higher than on Triond. (that's if you join the Hubages Ad Program) However, that should not put you off writing for Triond. Every little helps.

I will check the site whenever possible!! Hope everything is well at your end!! Cheers!!
I wrote there, quite a few months ago and stopped because it didn't seem to get a lot of pennies. Reading you hub they seemed to have improved, adding ads, and will go back there. Thank you for the good news.
Lady E this is great information and thank you for it - I am still VERY 'green' about such things - and I am so impressed that you receive earnings from your writing - I certainly never have on Hubs or Wordpress - mind you - I am not 'au fait' with all the 'backlink' strategies that Habbee mentioned! I think I will have a look at Triond - maybe Squidoo too though I am happy on Hubs because I feel I have got the 'hang' of it - finally! Thanks for this Lady E - think I'll vote it up!
up & beautiful! Thanks Lady E. also a member but haven't written there for a while. Will return thanks to you...
Thanks for sharing this. I've bookmarked this hub of yours. Currently I don't have enough time to write for other sites as well. But there will come a time, I know, for me to go 100% cyber. You are truly too kind to share this info with all of us. God bless!
I don,t write for money, but i know a lot of people do and your info. will help them i,m sure. You are so kind and helpful. Thank you.
God Blwss
You know I am going to check it out! lol, lol, Just like I did at Xomba!!! Thank you! Love ya!
Hey, thanks for a great article. Just wondering if their are certain types of articles that you think are better to publish with Triond and others that suit hubpages better. Thanks
Thanks, Lady_E. My brother is terrific at creative photography but hasn't found a way to make any money with it yet. I will forward this to him.
Lady E, I've read many of your articles on Triond. They're very inspirational and informative. Your right, there are ads everywhere. I'm sure there are many Hubbers that could benefit from Triond ($$$). Thanks Elena, Ciao!
Hi lady E,
I publised blogs on Triond before i shifted to Hub. I found it is very difficult to get blogs published on Triond as they would always be after my Grammer.. so i dont know why you say they are not Grammer police when they would reject 10s of my blogs purely on grammer. About adsense, they only started sharing recently, and that too they share only 50% of what your clicks make on adsense. So i would still prefer it here.
This is great information. I see there are differing opinions of the merits of Triond in the comments here, but I confess I am looking for a forum that allows for much shorter posts and may give it a try. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Mike
Thanks for this useful information.
I tend to write "fluff" articles at Triond that are usually short, 400 words and up. I've been making about $6 a month for a while on 39 articles, plus another $5 a month from Adsense. My best article there has earned me almost $50 already in 14 months. It's a Top 10 article and they seem to do very well there.
Luckily, I've never had anything rejected or sent back for correction and lately my posts get published almost immediately. And I avoid the forum completely...it's crazy in there...even worse than here :)
Let me know your Triond username so I can add you if a friend if we aren't already :)
Nice Info.
I have also written about the same topic
"Triond vs Hubpages" So It is an added advantage for the readers of this hub to get more knowledge on this topic. The url of my hub is http://hubpages.com/hub/Triond-vs-Hubpages
I hope the readers like my hub also.
Since the time my hub was published, there have been some updations in both hubpages and triond but almost all points in my hub are accurate. Now Triond has started to use badges for authors' recognition.
Hi Lady Elena, thanks for the info, will check them out!!
Hi Lady E, thanks for the information. I do like Hubpages more than Triond. It is much easier to use in my opinion and my pages get indexed really quickly.
Ages ago I signed up with Triond (before signing up for HubPages). I only have so much spare time, so I let Triond sit for ages. Recently, I threw a pieces of writing on there, and it looks to me as if (considering how few pieces I have on there) the earnings are showing promise.
I'd like to put more on there, and more on here - but it's kind of a miracle I have time to do what I do as it is. I'd actually like to get about 30 articles on there and see what they do. I do like what I have for October earnings on there with so few articles. That looks good to me. Then again, I like the "simplicity" of writing on HubPages (and earning potential).
Hi Lady E, glad to see you again. Anyway I'm member of Trond, but I've never written anything on it yet. After reading your hub I think I will go back and look into it. Can I submit my hubs to them, or do I have to write original content? Very good hub.
I have an account with Triond, yet to submit an article.I just checked their PR-it's a PR 5 site.Do they allow external backlinks?Thank you so much for this review :)
Hi Lady E, and as it is always with you: your articles are always wonderful, presenting things from a different and interesting point of view. I have an account on Triond (yet to publish there anyway), but my problem here is that the writers here are amateurish, there's this particular guy on the site whose past time is peddling false information mostly on death of celebrities like Play boy's Hugh hefner, making the editorial board less concerned with the kind of info circulated on the site, which to me is a writing aberration. Thanks as I look forward to more quality hubs from your stables.
Hi LADY E :-)
Just used your link to join triond.
Haven't posted articles there ,but it will come.
I didn't yet find where to add my google id,but i hope i will manage.
Will check them out.
I read about Triond, and I am thinking about adding this site to my portfolio. Thanks Lady_E.
I love your writings and was plesantly surprised to come across you here on hubpages. I will be following you here now as well. I just recently started here on this site. This article has helped me alot. Thank you again.
Lady_E encouraged me to write on Triond. I have been there now for a couple weeks. My revenue is slowly increasing (only pennies now), but I believe over time they will grow into dollars. Lady_E has a strong work ethic, and because of her dedication, she prospers. I am striving to be steady, consistent, a great writer - writing good content and caring about people, like she does/is. I am testifying to Lady_E and speaking to the audience. Thanks Lady_E
As freelance writers and writing as a hobby, it sounds like a good one to keep in mind. Thanks for sharing. Voted and rated.
I am new to hubpages, and I learned a lot, thanks for posting this, I will check the triond soon.
Thanks for the detailed info!!
I find publishing articles with Triond is simple. So far I have published only one article for backlinking my hubs.I guess the earning potential with Triond is really great though they don't have that much search engine authority like hubpages.thanks :)
Ok, totally awesome. You are super-informative. Really inspring me to get on this writing stuff. For the first time I actually want to explore my passion here...Thanks a million.
Thanks alot Lady_E for your well written hub. This is the exact information i was looking for because i want to join another writing site so as to increase my earnings. I think i will try it out in triond. God bless you.
You can have pictures and videos there, or just pictures? It is AdSense just like here? Here I don't write for money so really clueless. In fact I have written for money nowhere so far.
I still have problem with triond, Elena. You see, my Hub 'Ode For Rotten Rooster' was publishing at Triond at first but they published it not in the way I formatting it. Seem not neat at all. I asked for revision but they only revised the words, not the pictures. Really made me unsatisfied so I decided to unpublished it and move it to Hub Pages. Hub Pages layout still way better. ^^
I was going to read your creative stuff first. I almost never read how to or comparison articles. I am jaded. This was well written & interesting in that it made me realize how little I know. Don't call me a newbie. I worked on the first generation of graphic computers in a government subsidized electronics industry. We communicated with each other and the military on a yet unnamed medium. Before long, one of the engineers was selling booths in a virtual flea market he was calling eBay.
I could see that this man-made astral plane was the vehicle of the anti-christ and would be used in the future to organize his regime and control us. I only used computers for art and avoided the web, net, snare. Why have I changed my mind?
I am allergic to quark. I like a brand of user friendly programs and use a superior computer. I won't argue about it. If someone thinks different, they don't know any better. To deal with this crazy back and forth and "where did it go?" system . . . I keep a word processing program open. When I am satisfied, I cut and paste into the piece of junk program. It saves me a lot of grief.
This hub answered many of my questions. It is great to have a side by side comparision from a writer who uses both sites. Voted up and AWESOME!!
Really useful hub thanks Lady_E! (and thanks for the link on my question :))
I signed up for an account on Triond and InfoBarrel a few weeks ago but still couldn't decide to split my time between the three sites or stick with just HP. I prefer not to have all my eggs in one basket so I think I'll give it a go...see you on there!

Hi Lady E,
I am going o check Triond out right away. Thank you for the awesome info. Will keep you posted on my progress there.
Holy cow! Did I leave that post? I am too impulsive. I guess the left side of my brain took over and showed me what the right side was doing while he was being ignored.
Thanks for your wonderful comment on my article in triond LE, that has brought me back to my favorite site. Thanks again.
Thanks Lady_E--I will look for you there--I tend to keep my shorter works on Triond--

See you there. Thanks for the tip on not being able to edit comments, I often use a netbook with a smallish keyboard and... well, that's just an excuse anyway. Thanks for the heads up!
